The End?

I did it! At last! I survived a few of you — others, I patiently wait your own conclusions. This project was hard, but a lot of fun. For the most part, I really did drag my camera everywhere. Except for when it broke in January. Or a week here and there where life just got too out of hand, and I had to go back and try to capture what I had lost. But, for the most part, I did it.

Looking back at the past year in photos is really something. It’s a lot different than the other types of journals I keep or have kept. Some days, it captured the feeling just right. I could have never found the words.

What have 365 days seen? All four seasons. A start of one job, then another. An internship. Moving out of my parents house. My 23rd birthday. The search for a place to live. Brooklyn, Brooklyn, Brooklyn. Home. A lot of the sky. Lots of flowers. Lots of driving. Lots of views out of windows. Three attempts at romance, to get it right. Lots of friends. The loss of my childhood pet. Books I have read. Passages I’ve found wise. My family. Anomalies. Secrets. The loss of my grandmother. A lot of food that I ate. Holidays.

I’d like to keep his journal going, in one form or another. I’d love to do another 365 days. I’d love to tweak the concept, too. So, here’s to The End?, which as I’ve learned the most over these past 365 days, really just means the Beginning.

Day Three Hundred Sixty Three

This came in the mail from the new vet where I took Sugar. When I’m finally ready to adopt a new kitty, I will certainly bring him there. This was beautiful.
